Use Of Stones To Help In Study

For helping students to study better, here are some of the stones recommended: -

(1) Amber: Best to use fossilized amber. Suppose to improve overall intelligence.
(2) Tiger Eye and Carnalian: Suppose to help in concentration. Tiger eye also helps in making the wearer courageous, especially good for those who are shy in class and dare not participate or even ask questions. Tiger Eye is a solar plexus chakra stone and it also helps to promote mental clarity and improve analytical ability.
(3) Strawberry or Red Tiger Eye/ Turquoise : Helps in public speaking. Good for presentation in class.
(4) Hematite: Helps in improving mathematical and science abilities.
(5) Amethyst: a Generator or Cluster in the study room helps concentration and improve eyesight.
(6) Fluorite is another stone that helps to calm the mind and improve concentration. I have students who often come to the shop to ask for this stone especially before examination periods.

(1) – (4) - to wear them as pendants, or bracelets.

A formidable combination of the tiger eye species is the iron tiger eye which include yellow tiger eye, red tiger eye (jasper) and hematite. Its is definitely a good stone for students.

Once my son complained that when he took his first examination paper for an important subject, he was so nervous that he did not know what he was answering. The next day, I gave him a Quartz Star of David pendant to wear and he succeeded in overcoming his jittery for the subsequent exam papers and went on to fare quite well in his results.

My friend, a VP Engineering in a large hotel chain, who learned meditation and Qigong from me, related how he used copper wire to help him concentrate in his study during his university days. He would coil a strain of copper wire in a series of loop and hold in his palm of his left hand or fiddle with it with his left hand fingers while he was studying his books and notes. He swore that this method helped him concentrate better.

Use Of Stones To Promote Good Feng Shui

Hang a quartz on top of each door if you have two doors face to face with one another. The occupants in the rooms with door facing each other would end up having a quarrelsome relationship. In Chinese, door is symbolized by the pictorial character of a mouth, and when two doors are opposite each other they are just like two mouths confronting each other. I recommend rose quartz to improve and harmonise relationship.

Hang a quartz from the ceiling half way between two doors which are in alignment. Best to use a natural quartz which is faceted cut. It is inauspicious to have two doors in straight alignment in any building; they are called heart piercing doors.

Place a geode of amethyst on the left hand corner of the room diagonally opposite the entrance into a room. That is the wealth corner. Can also use quartz ball or aventurine balls. (100 mm and above in diameter).

If you need to protect your main door from unwelcome intrusions by negative spirits, place a large crystal ball or an amethyst geode opposite the door.

If you have windows facing inauspicious position and objects in the landscape outside your house – sharp corners, railway tracks, hang faceted cut quartz ball from the windows. The quartz ball exposed to sunlight will also reflect rainbow colour lights into the room, making it charged with positive and lively energy.

If you need to protect your house from thieves and even negative spirits, use a laser quartz and trace the outlines of the doors and windows you wish to protect. Visualise brilliant laser white beams from the laser quartz forming an energy frame protecting the doors and windows.

Fossilized/petrified Wood brings luck and offers protection against negativity. Good to hang them on the front door, with your house number or name of the family craved on it. Or, you can hang a petrified bracelet on the inner door knob on your main door.

For couples having fertility problems, place either amethyst or agate geode or rose quartz in the bedroom near to the bed. Rose quartz is good to promote harmonious relationship between husband and wife.

If you have a toilet entrance facing your bed, or dinner table, you can also hang stones – smoky quartz – from the toilet door to neutralize the Ying damaging energy.

If you have the foot of the bed facing the door to your bedroom, you are likely to be inflicted with ailments affecting your legs. I place two tektites (can use smoky quartz, black tourmaline or black obsidian) below the bed to neutralize the adverse radiation caused by this inauspicious positioning of the bed.

To protect your toilet from negative energy, put tumbled white calcite nuggets in a glass bowl in the toilet. Make sure you cleanse the stones periodically, once a fortnight. (Can use sea salt and keep them in glass bowl overnight in toilet. Next morning flush away the salt into toilet bowl and replace them with new salt.)

In your office, if you suspect your colleagues are plotting or backstabbing you, place a quartz cluster on the upper right hand corner of your working desk.

In your office, if you have a window behind you, make sure the curtains are always drawn up and try to place a large rock – jasper, smoky quartz or elestial quartz, on the window ledge to make sure you have the support of your bosses and colleagues.

To help your children to concentrate better in their studies and to protect their eyesight, place amethyst stones on their study tables – preferable amethyst generator (with either natural or cut or single pointed termination and a stable base at the bottom).

Place tumbled quartz or raw black tourmaline stones in front of your computer monitor to screen away the harmful radiations from the devices. Have to cleanse the stones - especially the white quartz - once a fortnight by either salt water, or burying them in the garden overnight and thereafter expose to the morning sun to charge them up for reuse.

Sugilite

Sugilite is one stone often described as beneficial to help cancer patients by many writers on use of stones and minerals. Having the same purple and indigo higher vibrations like another useful stone Amethyst, Sugilite has black maganese inclusion which is good for keeping open the feeder system - the limbs from which energies are said to be absorbed into our physical bodies. It is also supposed to strengthen our immune and endocrine system, and promotes the growth of anti-oxidant.

Melody, in here book Love is in the Earth, describes Sugilite as "a love stone for this age" which represents all that is. Its vibration is of true spiritual love and encourages the manifestation of this vital energy in our surroundings and very being. It assists the user in resonating with the energy of the New Age and attuning to the perfect state of higher planes. Use of Sugilite enables the flow of this energy to enter the crown chakra and flow through all the chakras helping with connection to source.

It assists with the gift of forgiveness both to yourself and others and empowers the user to discover the unique gifts they have brought into this world. Sugilite makes it easier to become accepting of others and to be present to the here and now. Wonderful for situations where there is a possibility that anger, disappointment or conflict could prevail. It removes negativity, supports a feeling of well being and empowers co-creation. Sugilite seems to protect against, absorb and dissipate anger, hurt and other unwanted negative energies. It is a nurturing and balancing stone at all levels.

Sugilite is extremely effective in those wishing to explore the relationship between physical health and the mental body. It attracts healing power and enables insight into the base causes that manifest as physical problems, whilst enabling the user to channel large amounts of energy and balancing the emotions. Sugilite that is included with veins of Manganese is particularly effective. Try it next time you feel tense or at odds with your surroundings and the situations created therein. It is also incredibly effective at removing headaches. Placed on the forehead it seems to draw out the pain in moments.

Sugilite was first identified by Professor Kenichi Sugi (for which it was later named ) in Southern Japan in 1944. The find was small and it disappeared into obscurity until 1975 when ita significant find was identified at the Wessels mine near Kuramen in South Africa. A major pocket was unearthed, over 3000 feet below the surface, in 1979 and it did not take long for Sugilite to become a much sought after stone for jewelry and carving. There are persistent rumours that the mine is now closed. This is not true but it is becoming very difficult to source Sugilite. The Wessels mine is , even by world standards a large producer of Manganese and Sugilite is one of the minerals that are found there as a by product. It intergrows with the manganese and is generally found in isolated pockets. It is reasonably scarce and extremely desirable amongst both jewelers and carvers. This has caused it to become expensive.

The Wonderful Cleansing Bowl

This 15 " cleansing or singing bowl made of synthetic quartz is a powerful cleaner of quartz and stones, or for that matter any physical objects.

It removes all residual negative or foreign energy from the objects, and re-charge them with higher vibrations. After the treatment, crystals and stones especially become brighter, more shinning and a beauty to behold - I used to tell my customers that seeing is believing.

The cleaning is done by placing the objects inside the receptacle and generating a continuous hum - more like the "OM" - by rubbing a rubberized stick along its outer edge. The sound is awesomely loud and reverberated in the immediate surrounding, attracting attention from curious passers-by.

I used to explain to customers that stone and quartz items are required to be cleaned because they would have been handled by many people- from the time they were mined to the time they are sold. So one could imagine the confusing range of good and bad vibration being inadvertently left behind in these stones by the people handling them.

And, upon requests from customers, I could strengthen and programme the quartz and stones by chanting mantras and asking for blessings.

Once, my colleague and I were experimenting with cleansing a book entitled something like Thai Black Magic....and as we were doing it, we could literary see black coloured energy rising from the book we placed in the bowl. It is surprising that printed words and pictures could carry with them the negative vibrations of the contents in the book.

And, the bowl has been so conditioned after repeated use that the mere placement of the objects in it would result in the cleaning action being automatically carried out.

Pietersite - Tempest Stone

This stone is supposed to help one on spiritual journey and accessing the Akashic Record - Library of Universal knowledge. The stone which is a specie of Jasper is supposed to come from Namibia, Africa, and the mines where the stones are gathered are said to be exhausted, meaning the stones would become rare in time to come.

On its healing propery, it is supposed to "stimulate the pituitary gland, balancing the endocrine system and production of hormones. it helps the lung, liver, interests, feet and legs and promotes absorption of nutrients from food. At subtle level, it clears and energies the meridian pathways of the body....(The Crystal Bible - Judy Hall).

"It stimulates the third eye and the pineal gland, promoting intuitive ability and profound spiritual visions and precognition."

Personally, when i first held the stones, I discovered that it activated all pores - meaning it opens up our skin sub-chakra. This is beneficial to those who practises the Tao Qigong of "Womb Breathing Method"... meaning we learn to meditate and breathe through our skin pores. Apart from this, I also find out that the stone helps to overcome skin disorders. This has not been mentioned in any other published literature on crystals and stones, as far as I can recall.

Chinese Cliff Cedar Wood Bracelets

We have brought in a new product called Ya Bai – 崖柏 - a specie of wood from the Chinese Cliff Cedar Tree also known as Biota Orientalis or Thuja Orientalis. Made from the roots of the trees, found mainly in Sichuan, China, they are available in bracelets of round and rectangular shaped beads, and charms. (price between S$6 to S$38). They have very pleasant and unusual smell – refreshing scent that rekindles alertness to a tired mind. Recently, one of our regular customers was so glad that the bracelet he bought from us helped clear a stubborn nose blockage which had troubled him for many years.

The Cliff Cedar aroma mainly contains isatis indigotica, terpene lactones, lemon terpene, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These terpene compound chemical ingredients is said to permeate our skin at the speed rate 100 times of water and 1000 times of salt water.

The other benefits include: -

• Regulate and balance the respiratory and central nervous system
• Increase the body's resistance and promote overall healthy energy.

When I first held the wood bracelet, i felt the highly refined vibration that ascended to my crown chakra before settling down to the solar plexus chakra. It is very spiritual and will serve as a good meditation aid. Wearing them to bed brings about peaceful sleep and vivid lucid dreams.



This is an unusual carving of the image of Zhong Kui, the Chinese legendary Ghost catcher, on a big piece of the root of the cliff cedar. It is displayed in the shop along with another cliff cedar carving of the famous Chinese Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai at our Pearls Center's outlet.

There is an interesting variety of amethyst and I can recall the few I have come across in my collection of these stones.


Geode Amethyst - normally exist in an oval egg shape and commercially available in halves, which appears like a miniature cave. It is a good fengshui attracting stone when placed in the wealth corner of the house. Placing it in front of the main entrance would prevent negative energies from intruding into the house. A pair adorn my altar.


Ametrine - A combination of Amethyst and Citrine. It integrates the psychic Third Eye Chakra and the Mental Solar Plexus Chakra, giving you insight and mental clarity as you develop your psychic faculties. It is a wealth attacting stone when adorn as a jewellery and offers effective protection against negative energies. I used to have it in the formation of a Star Of David pendant.


Double Termination Amethyst: - Said to be from Vera Cruz and South Africa, the naturally formed double termination has overpowering vibrations and immediately leads us into the meditative state. This variety normally has paler purple colour. To me, it not only affect the third eye chakra but also the throat and in particular the crown almost instantaneously as I hold it in my receptive hand. I own a few pieces which I strung with silver metal wires and wear them occasionally.

Other varieties of amethyst -

Dog Tooth Amethyst: Also known as Chevron Amethyst, the raw stone shaped like a tooth with dense purple and white cement colour. Vibrations are heavier and provides good grounding qualities besides uplifting our 3rd eye energies so that we do not get too space out.

Elestial Amethyst: Already elestial, normally in smoky variation and some come with fossilised water, by itself is a mysterious stone, a storage house of ancient knowledge. I suppose the amethyst inclusion would give it a more spiritual enhancement.


Rutiliated Amethyst . Again, a rare variety, and the rutiliated needles are supposed to provide the amethyst with the electrical zap to make the vibrations more lively and vibrant.

Once a mother came and consulted me about her 10 year old son whom I suspected could be an Indigo child. The boy has overall refined energy and loves to place his two hands in a prayer's gesture and pay respects to all Buddha and Boddhisattvas whenever he comes across their statues. The mother showed me an amethyst bracelet she gave to her son to wear and complained that the stones became more red in appearance instead of the purplish colour when she originally bought it. I supposed that being spiritual, the boy must have absorbed more of the blue colour in the amethyst stones (purple being a combination of the colours of blue and red), leaving behind more of the red colours which make the stones look more red. But subsequently I pondered over this encounter and asked myself the question why not the reverse as the boy should have absorbed more of the red for grounding leaving behind more of the blue in the stone.
